4
Keep track of everything
Start a simple record of your claim. Write down who you speak with, the date and time, and what was discussed. Keep notes about important decisions, instructions, and next steps.
It’s a small thing, but it can make a big difference when there are lots of details to keep track of.
5
Keep your documents and photos
Your adjuster will let you know what information they need to assess your claim. This may include receipts, estimates, photographs, or other documents showing the value of items that were lost or damaged.
Keep copies of everything you provide for your own records.
6
Review your settlement
Once your adjuster has assessed your claim, they will discuss the settlement with you. Depending on your policy and the circumstances, this may involve payment for the loss or replacing or repairing your property.
